Cookie policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
Provisional content: this policy is a template pending client review. Update it if new tools are enabled (analytics, maps, anti-bot).
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies this site uses. Short version: we use the bare minimum — site preferences and audience measurement. We do not use advertising cookies.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files your browser stores when you visit a site, to remember information across pages or visits. Similar technologies such as localStorage serve a similar purpose, but their data is not automatically sent to the server.
2. What this site uses
Theme preference (light/dark): stored in your browser's localStorage. It is not a cookie and never reaches our servers.
Admin session cookies: created only when authorized staff sign in; visitors never receive them.
Audience measurement cookies (Google Analytics): detailed in the next section.
We do not use advertising or marketing profiling cookies.
3. Analytics
We use Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool that sets no cookies and only produces aggregate, anonymous metrics (page views, country, device type). It cannot identify you or track you across sites.
We also use Google Analytics 4, Google's measurement service. This one does store cookies in your browser: _ga and another starting with _ga_ followed by the property identifier, both lasting roughly two years. They distinguish visitors and sessions, and tell us which pages and projects draw the most interest.
Google acts as the service provider and may process that data on its servers outside Panama. If you would rather stay out of those metrics, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or block cookies in your browser; the site keeps working the same.
4. Third-party content
YouTube videos load from the youtube-nocookie.com domain and only when you press play; at that point YouTube may set its own cookies under its policy.
WhatsApp buttons open the WhatsApp app or site, where their own policies apply.
5. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies and localStorage from your browser settings. The site keeps working without them; you will only lose the saved theme preference.
6. Changes and contact
If we add tools that use cookies, we will update this policy before enabling them. Questions: [contact email].
